In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which emphasizes inclusion, empowerment, and social protection for all citizens, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has partnered with the Nigerian Red Cross Society to implement a Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) program for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) affected by flooding in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The event, held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Nigerian Red Cross Headquarters, Maiduguri, aimed to provide direct financial relief to PWDs whose livelihoods were disrupted by the recent floods.

Each beneficiary, drawn from across the various disability clusters — the Physically Challenged, Visually Impaired (Blind), Hearing Impaired (Deaf), Persons with Albinism, and Persons Affected by Leprosy — received a ₦100,000 cash transfer to support recovery, livelihood restoration, and dignity.

Hon. Abba Isa commended President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his inclusive policies that continue to prioritize PWDs and other vulnerable groups under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also lauded His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, Executive Governor of Borno State, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare and empowerment of PWDs across the state.

The SSA further appreciated the Secretary General of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Kende, for his exemplary leadership and the organization’s sustained humanitarian efforts in advancing inclusion and upholding human dignity nationwide.
The event was graced by Dr. Bulama Mali Gubio, mni, Branch Chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Borno State, and Chairman of the Borno State Civil Service Commission, whose inspiring words and fatherly support added immense value to the program.

Special appreciation also goes to Alhaji Mohammed Hamza, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, who represented the Honourable Commissioner; Muhammad Zannah Barma, Branch Secretary, Nigerian Red Cross Borno State; Mr. Timothy Ali Yohana, Disaster Management Coordinator, Nigerian Red Cross Society, National Headquarters, Abuja; Alhaji Ahmadu, State Chairman, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Borno State; and the JONAPWD cluster heads for their collaboration and tireless efforts in promoting the welfare of persons with disabilities.

Together, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and social justice — ensuring that Persons with Disabilities are not left behind in humanitarian response and development programs, in full alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
