By Lanre Oloyede

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has congratulated the newly appointed members of the Yobe State Working Committee and Zonal Coordinators of the City Boy Movement (CBM).

The appointments were conveyed in an official notification signed by Dr. Muhammad Yakubu Hassan, Director of the City Boy Movement in Yobe State.

According to Dr. Hassan, the inauguration of the Yobe State Executive Committees aligns with the Movement’s commitment to grassroots mobilization, youth inclusion, and structured political engagement across the state.

He explained that the constitution of the State Working Committee represents a strategic move to strengthen the organizational framework of the Movement, broaden its presence at ward, local government, and state levels, and position it as a formidable platform for political participation, good governance advocacy, and progressive leadership in Yobe State.

Dr. Hassan noted that the newly appointed officials were selected based on their capacity, loyalty, grassroots influence, and dedication to the ideals of the City Boy Movement, particularly in promoting youth empowerment, civic engagement, and support for progressive governance.

The Yobe State Working Committee is expected to coordinate all activities of the Movement within the state, mobilize members across the three senatorial zones, drive strategic engagements, and collaborate closely with the national leadership to actualize its objectives.

In a congratulatory  press statement he  personally signed,  Hon. Abba Isa, who serves as the National Coordinator for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the City Boy Movement under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the appointments as well-deserved.

The Senior presidential aide said the emergence of the new leadership reflects their “dedication, credibility, and unwavering commitment to grassroots mobilization and progressive leadership.”

“The responsibility entrusted to you is significant,” Abba Isa stated. “You are expected to strengthen our structures across the state, deepen stakeholder engagement, and enhance political participation at ward, local government, and state levels.”

The SSA emphasized that at a critical stage in Nigeria’s development, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu provides a clear roadmap for economic reforms, social inclusion, youth empowerment, and sustainable national growth.

Hon. Abba Isa urged the appointees to consolidate the Movement’s structures and expand its reach in support of progressive policies and leadership.

According to him, the task ahead requires unity, discipline, and sustained grassroots engagement to build public confidence in progressive governance and solidify the Movement’s relevance in the evolving political landscape.

Importantly, Hon. Abba Isa called on the national leadership of the City Boy Movement to institutionalize the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in every State Working Committee nationwide, similar to the structured wings for youth and women.

“True progress and genuine Renewed Hope must be inclusive. Ensuring formal representation for Persons with Disabilities will not only demonstrate our commitment to equal opportunity but also enrich our Movement with diverse perspectives and strengthen our grassroots legitimacy,” he said.

He urged the newly appointed officials to discharge their duties with dedication, discipline, and a strong sense of purpose in advancing the collective vision of the Movement.

The newly constituted Yobe State Working Committee is led by Dr. Muhammad Goje as State Coordinator, with Hon. Mohammed Alkali (Sarkiyo) serving as Deputy State Coordinator and Bashir Muhammad Ranccas as State Secretary. Other key officials include Engr. Muhammad Tijjani Ali (Assistant Secretary), Alh. Babagana Alh. Modu (Organizing/Mobilization Secretary), Hassan Shettima Buni (State Treasurer), and Ibrahim Baba Saleh (Head of Publicity/Media).

The committee also features coordinators for Women, Youth, Students, and Persons with Disabilities, with Haruna Tata appointed as PWDs Coordinator.

Across the three senatorial zones, the Movement appointed zonal coordinators and secretaries to oversee activities and ensure effective grassroots coordination in Zones A, B, and C.
