73rd Birthday: Presidential Aide, Abba Isa Celebrates Former Nasarawa Governor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura

By Lanre Oloyede

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the former Governor of Nasarawa State and Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Senator Alhaji Tanko Umaru Al-Makura, on the joyous occasion of his 73rd birthday anniversary.

Senator Al-Makura, a distinguished statesman, two-term governor, and respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), also represented the good people of Nasarawa South Senatorial District at the National Assembly from 2019 to 2023.

In his congratulatory message by his Director Media and Communications, Mr Lanre Oloyede, Hon. Abba Isa eulogized Senator Al-Makura as a visionary leader and one of the strongest pillars of disability inclusion, not only in Nasarawa State but across Nigeria.

He noted that the former governor has consistently demonstrated passion, commitment, and sincerity toward advancing the rights and welfare of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), both during his years in public office and even after leaving government.

He praised Senator Al-Makura for his inclusive governance style, recalling that many of his policies, programmes, and physical development projects were deliberately designed to ensure equity, accessibility, and opportunities for all, particularly Persons With Special Needs.

“On behalf of my office and the entire disability community, I celebrate a leader of conscience, a father, a patriot, and a role model. May your new age usher in more grace, peace, and honour. Happy 73rd Birthday, Sir,” he wrote.

According to him, “Senator Al-Makura stands tall as one of the greatest champions of disability inclusion in Nigeria. His legacy is written not only in infrastructure, but in human empowerment, compassion, and lifelong service to humanity. He has always stood up for the rights of the people, and he continues to identify with and support special persons without discrimination or hesitation.”

Hon. Abba Isa prayed that Almighty Allah continues to bless Senator Al-Makura with renewed strength, sound health, divine guidance, prosperity, and greater fulfillment as he continues to serve humanity and the nation.
