The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has commended the Oasis Centre for Learning Disabilities and Audiology for its outstanding contributions to the field of disability advocacy and education.
Represented by his Director Media and Communications, Mr Lanre Oloyede, Hon. Abba Isa gave this commendation during the public presentation of the book “Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity in Children” and the launch of The Special Child Magazine—two impactful initiatives of the Oasis Centre.

He praised the authors, contributors, and the Centre’s leadership for their tireless efforts and insightful research, which he described as a significant addition to the body of knowledge and a vital tool for advancing advocacy, inclusion, and the holistic well-being of children with disabilities.
“Their work is not only timely but critically important. It amplifies the growing call for inclusive development and responsive support systems for vulnerable groups in our society,” he stated.

The book “Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity in Children” offers a deeply researched and thoughtful examination of the often misunderstood challenges faced by children with hyperactivity disorders. It serves as a practical guide for parents, caregivers, and educators, offering strategies to better understand, support, and nurture the potential of these children. “This book is more than a publication—it is a tool for transformation and empowerment,” Hon. Abba Isa added.
He also lauded The Special Child Magazine as a timely and much-needed platform that boldly brings issues affecting children with special needs to the forefront. According to him, the magazine opens up new avenues for awareness, dialogue, and advocacy—helping to shift perceptions, challenge stigma, and inspire positive action.

“On behalf of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I reaffirm our government’s commitment to initiatives that promote inclusivity, equal opportunities, and the overall well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly Persons With Disabilities. We believe that sustainable national development is only possible when no one is left behind,” he affirmed.
In closing, Hon. Abba Isa reiterated his office’s readiness to partner with the Oasis Centre to strengthen efforts toward improving learning and living conditions for children with special needs across Nigeria.
