Better days lie ahead for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria as the
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa and the Executive Secretary of National Commision for Persons With Disabilities (NCPWD) Mr James David Lalu, have chosen to collaborate in order to advance the agenda and welfare of the PWDs in the country.
This was made known Wednesday when the SSA to the President, Hon. Abba Isa paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Executive Secretary, NCPWD in Abuja.
Addressing his host, Hon Abba Isa stated that the essence of the visit was to introduce himself to the E.S and to seek possible areas of collaboration and partnership with the Commission.
The Presidential aide stressed the importance of synergy and partnership among agencies and stakeholders in the Disability Community as essential tool to realizing the Agenda of Mr President for an inclusive society in line with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Hon. Abba Isa, who submitted that the mandate of his office is to complement the efforts of the Executive Secretary of NCPWD, maintained that mutual cooperation between the two institutions is sacroscant as no man can work alone and succeed.
While responding, the highly elated Executive Secretary of NCPWD, Mr James Lalu, who received the Presidential aide and his team with open arms congratulated him on his recent appointment as SSA to the president by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that it was a well deserved appointment.
Mr. Lalu agreed with the position of the SSA to the president on the need for cooperation and collaboration between the two institutions, promising to render every assistance possible to help his guest succeed and achieve the mandate of his office.
While promising a smooth working relationship between the two institutions, Mr Lalu assured Hon Abba Isa that he can always count on his support and assurance.
