APC Convention: SSAP Abba Isa Hails President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Impact on PWDs

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as the significant achievements of his administration and the transformative impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda on Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

Abba Isa made the remarks while delivering a goodwill message at the 4th National Elective Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held on Friday at Eagle Square, Abuja.

He described the convention as a landmark event that not only reflects the party’s democratic ideals but also reinforces its commitment to unity, progress, and inclusive governance.

The presidential aide congratulated President Tinubu for his “visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to building a Nigeria that works for all,” while also acknowledging Vice President Kashim Shettima, the leadership of the National Assembly, the APC National Chairman, members of the National Working Committee, and party leaders across the country for strengthening the party.

Highlighting the administration’s strides in disability inclusion, Abba Isa said the Renewed Hope Agenda has delivered measurable benefits to PWDs nationwide.

He noted that President Tinubu’s approval of a 10 per cent reservation in social intervention programmes for vulnerable groups, particularly Persons With Disabilities, has expanded access to opportunities and improved livelihoods.

According to him, over 8,000 PWDs have benefited from the Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme, while more than 500 beneficiaries have accessed educational support through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). He added that over 5,000 PWDs have also participated in various training and skill acquisition programmes under the administration.

“These are not just numbers, but lives transformed and futures secured,” he said, adding that the disability community remains appreciative of the President’s inclusive policies.

Abba Isa also praised the administration’s economic reforms, stating that despite initial challenges, the policies are beginning to yield positive outcomes. He cited a decline in inflation to about 14.45 per cent, sustained GDP growth, improved trade balances, increased investor confidence, and greater foreign exchange stability.

He further referenced Nigeria’s exit from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Grey List, renewed investments in the oil sector, and the 400 per cent oversubscription of Eurobonds as indicators of growing global confidence in the country’s economy.

“These achievements show that Nigeria is on a steady path to economic recovery and prosperity,” he said.

Reaffirming the support of over 35 million Persons With Disabilities for the APC, Abba Isa pledged continued commitment to nation-building and democratic consolidation. He also called for sustained efforts to strengthen policies that promote accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all Nigerians.

The APC convention, attended by top government officials and party stakeholders, concluded with renewed calls for unity and stronger internal democracy as the party prepares for future electoral engagements.
