
…Congratulates Dr. Ishiyaku Adamu on Appointment as Executive Secretary, Disability Commission

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, has lauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State for the groundbreaking signing of the Disability Protection Bill into law and the subsequent establishment of the Gombe State Disability Commission.
Describing the move as a monumental achievement, Hon. Abba Isa commended the governor for his unwavering commitment to the empowerment, inclusion, and protection of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Gombe State.

In a statement by his Director Media and Communications, Lanre Oloyede, the presidential aide said: “By signing this historic legislation into law, His Excellency has solidified his position as a disability-friendly governor who prioritizes social justice and inclusive governance.
“This law not only provides a robust legal framework for the rights and well-being of PWDs but also demonstrates your administration’s resolve to ensure their accessibility, participation, and dignity in society—on par with every other citizen.
The SSAP further noted that the governor’s leadership has set a high standard for other states to emulate, adding that, “For this, I commend you most sincerely.”

In addition to celebrating the governor’s initiative, Hon. Abba Isa also congratulated Dr. Ishiyaku Adamu on his appointment as the Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Disability Commission.
Highlighting Dr. Ishiyaku’s credentials, Hon. Abba Isa described his appointment as a recognition of merit and dedication to disability advocacy. “Dr. Ishiyaku’s significant contributions to the disability community, particularly during his tenure as Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) in Gombe State, make him a perfect fit for this role,” he stated.
“Your Excellency, your decision to appoint Dr. Ishiyaku Adamu reflects your administration’s commitment to empowering capable leaders. I am confident that Dr. Ishiyaku will leverage his vast experience to deliver transformative results that will uplift and empower the disability community in Gombe State.”

The Senior presidential aide also commended the resilience and advocacy of the disability community in Gombe State, urging their support for the newly established commission as it begins implementing the provisions of the new law.
“This is a significant milestone for PWDs in Gombe State,” he said. “I urge everyone to support the Disability Commission as it embarks on the crucial journey of translating this law into impactful action.”
Concluding, Hon. Abba Isa reaffirmed his unwavering support for the implementation of the Disability Protection Law and the work of the Disability Commission. “Together, let us continue to champion inclusion, equity, and dignity for Persons with Disabilities, not only in Gombe State but across Nigeria.”
He wished Gombe State and the entire nation continued progress and success in promoting inclusive governance and social justice.
